Can't believe it's been a couple of months since I last wrote - I've been having such a fab time since. The humans are so worried about me overdoing it in the heat, that every day they've been taking me in the car to the forest for a cool walk. We've been all over the place - they are so easy to manipulate - I only have to put my tail down when they've gone wrong and pretty soon they manage to choose the route I want.
One day we went to a fete, where I had to walk around on lead for quite a bit. luckily when I got tired was the point at which they settled down with a drink to watch a show. It was a man cutting a lump of wood with a chainsaw into a guitar shape to the music of Jimi Hendrix - weird, or what?, but they seemed to enjoy it. Anyway I got to go to sleep for about 40 mins and everyone said how well-behaved I'd been. After that we went to my friends' house which was just up the road from the fete. Sally, Tilly and Blue always let me play with their toys (not that they get much option), I tell Blue off if he objects - after all he is still only a pup as far as I'm concerned and he should respect his elders! I got really into a squeaky and SOME PEOPLE got really irritated and said they would take me home! However, on the way back I managed such a good forlorn expression that they stopped at the top of Mt Beuvray to give me a run. What a great day!!
If only I could get them to give me more food - they're really rationing it out. I tell them over and over, that I can manage more than a spoonful at a time, but they don't take any notice. They keep worrying about my tummy. IT'S FIXED! But you know what humans are like! Thank goodness for my mate Clive. Yesterday he baked me a special giant biscuit. It is so scrummy - but again they only let me have a bit at a time. I'll keep working on them. must go, David's doing something in the cellar and I have to supervise!
