They promised me I'd be laying out on the balcony in the sunshine, but they lied! It's been very cold and quite wet since we got here.

Friday started off well with a trip to Autun - a great place for smells, they linger well around the old buildings, and I was able to claim a good part of it. The park was good fun too where we took advantage of a spell of sunshine.

On the way home we met my friends Dave and Jess, and they came back to our place for a spot of lunch.

It was freezing inside, but everybody just wore extra coats except me! Mum tried to make me sit on a special rug (dog bed), but I refused outright. I needed to keep an eye on them all. After Dave and Jess had gone, mum and dad decided to get on with unpacking the car. I sat on the cold step so I could get in the way of every box. After all they all needed to be logged in properly.

That night I felt really poorly and it didn't help that I thought there was going to be a storm. I told mum that I needed the loo (in the early hours) but she wasn't tuned in and thought I was just scared of the weather and refused to open the side door. There was nothing else for it - I threw up in the bedroom. That got their attention I can tell you! So I did it again! and again! Then dad at last let me out and I did a big poo by the hedge. What a relief!

Saturday morning I could tell I'd overdone the sitting on the cold stone thing. Dad got really worried when he took me for the morning walk, and no sooner had we got back to the house than I was whisked off to see Mme Chavot. Now, she's normally really nice and I was quite pleased to see her, BUT, she kept sticking needles in me. Twice in my neck and once in my leg. Then she handed over a bag of pills for the panicky humans to give me when we were at home. THAT WASN'T IN THE SCRIPT - I told them, but they didn't take any notice. I slept most of the afternoon. The highlight of the day was a trip to the top of Mt Beuvray where we had a short run round - I tried to convince them I was OK to do much more, but they weren't having any of it.

Sunday - still cold and damp and I'm not allowed to lie down outside. They won't give me any treats either. They promised me I'd love it here, but I just feel Wruff!
